The roman economy consisted of buying and selling goods. The farmers would have slaves grow food products. The farmers family or workers would take them and sell goods at the markets and trade goods. They had to be trustworthy to the farmers to be able to go to the market. The economy was run on goods and a major part of there barter system.
Production was another part of roman history that took off during this time. They would have slaves make cloths and furniture. The mass amount of people in production were free but making really low wages. The production economy made prices of furniture go up and cloths cheaper. That made the people more money because of faster production.
